Questions

Plain answers to what collectors ask most. If yours isn't here, write to us.

Does restoration affect a card's grade or value? +

It depends entirely on your intent, and we are transparent about it. Restored cards can add a value that results in a higher grade, but it is not a guarantee. Restoration is primarily for pieces you intend to keep, display, and protect — or where honest, disclosed conservation is the right choice.

We never disguise our work. Every commission returns with a record precisely because provenance and honesty protect the piece's standing.

What is the conservation record? +

A sealed document that accompanies every returned card: before-and-after photography, the sequence of interventions performed, and a list of every material used. It is written in plain language so its history stays legible to anyone who handles the card later.

How long does a commission take? +

Most commissions are returned within two to four weeks, depending on the work involved and the current queue. Because treatment proceeds in careful stages, we quote a timeline with your assessment rather than promising a rushed date.

How many cards can I submit at once? +

You may submit up to fifteen cards in a single commission. Do bear in mind that a larger batch asks for more time at the bench — the turnaround may extend accordingly, and we'll confirm a realistic timeline with your assessment.

What does it cost? +

Every service has a transparent flat rate reflected on the Services page, so you approve a figure before any work begins. If a card is determined to need more extensive work than the original service selected, we will communicate with you and gain your approval before moving forward. Any difference for a higher service must be settled before work begins.

Do you offer any guarantees? +

We cannot promise a higher grade, a lift in raw value, or the complete erasure of every flaw — no two pieces of damage are alike, and some prove beyond saving. What we do guarantee is a refund in the rare instance that restoration adds no discernible value, or when we determine a card is too far gone to be worked on responsibly.

Are there any restoration services you do not provide? +

We are strictly against altering cards in ways that add false value. This includes painting, glue, and other services that fall within the boundaries of alteration.

Which cards do you accept? +

We work across trading card games and printed collectibles. If you're unsure whether a piece is a fit, simply reach out and describe it — we'll tell you honestly, including when we believe a card is best left as it is.
